Membership fees are used to cover the costs of carrying out the College’s work as a body that self-governs the profession. Required by law, this work includes:
- administering registration processes and maintaining the public register;
- implementation and enforcement of professional and ethical standards and ongoing learning requirements;
- administering a complaints and discipline process;
- public protection initiatives including the Sexual Abuse Prevention and Funding for Therapy and Counselling programs;
- development and delivery of resources to support RECEs’ practice; and
- work of the elected and appointed Council and its Committees.
