The Expectations for Practice Module is one of two Continuous Professional Learning (CPL) Program educational requirements that new members in their first year of membership with the College must complete. (The other mandatory educational requirement is the Sexual Abuse Prevention Program.)
The Expectations for Practice module explains an RECE’s professional and ethical responsibilities and includes information related to:
- the Early Childhood Educators Act, 2007 and role and functions of the College of Early Childhood Educators;
- key concepts of being a regulated professional;
- Professionalism;
- professional misconduct, incompetence and incapacity; and
- fundamental practice areas in early childhood education.
